Reflection on the 44th Annual Fayetteville Dogwood Festival
Hard to believe it’s already been over a week since the 44th Fayetteville Dogwood Festival. This year came with its share of changes and challenges… but it also came with growth, perspective, and some really meaningful wins.
One of the biggest? Being good stewards of this festival’s future. This year’s event came in at roughly $120,000. Saving about $29,000 from last year and over $100,000 compared to years prior. Those weren’t just numbers on a spreadsheet… those were intentional decisions. Every dollar trimmed was done with purpose, because we’re not just planning for today, we’re building toward something bigger. A six-year vision leading us into the 50th Festival. A milestone we are determined to reach, together.
Putting on an event of this size takes more than most people ever see. It’s logistics and long nights, planning months (and years) ahead, balancing budgets, coordinating volunteers, finding vendors, coordinating with sponsors, and constantly learning how to do it better. It takes heart. And it takes a willingness to adapt. Because the truth is, things have changed. Spending has been down across the board. We feel it just like you do. The average household here in Fayetteville is navigating rising costs every single day. Even though the festival itself is free… getting there isn’t. Gas isn’t free. Food and drinks aren’t free. And when families are choosing where to spend, it has to feel worth it. We hear that. We see that. And we’re taking it seriously. That’s why we’re leaning in, not backing away. I am incredibly proud of what we pulled off and I am excited for 2027.
As we look ahead to the 45th Fayetteville Dogwood Festival, we’re reimagining what this experience can be. We want it to feel like home. A true hometown celebration. One that highlights the people, businesses, culture, and heart that make Fayetteville and our surrounding communities so special. This isn’t just about putting on a festival. It’s about preserving a tradition. Creating moments. Bringing people together in a way that reminds us why community matters.
And we’re just getting started. Stay tuned… we’ve got something special coming.
